GREAT NEWS! HealingNewtown and The Newtown Cultural Arts Commission (NCAC) are now in the process of moving into our new location! We are renting the offices and classrooms at Newtown Congregational Church (14 West Street) formerly occupied by the pre-school. We will be using the classrooms there for our workshops and classes and activities and we have use of the "Great Room" for larger events. More info to come once we are all moved in BUT do mark Friday July 12th on your calendars, this is the date we are hoping to have our "housewarming" party in our new location!
Healing Newtown Through
the Power of the Arts
Newtown and the Sandy Hook Community are deeply appreciative of the outpouring of love, support and generosity from our fellow citizens locally, regionally, nationally and worldwide.
The HealingNewtown through the Arts is a project developed and managed by the Newtown Cultural Arts Commission (NCAC). The project was created by an ad-hoc team of local, regional, and state arts leaders in response to the Sandy Hook tragedy. The project focus is on the arts to help the Newtown community to strengthen and to heal.
A variety of art programs and events are scheduled ongoing at different venues throughout Newtown and offered free of charge thanks to the generous contributions from individuals as well as creative resources near and far. There’s something for everyone!
HealingNewtown through the Arts is operated entirely by volunteers. Efforts are underway to develop a sustainable operation for the long-term, including the hiring of staff and finding a permanent Art Space to conduct programs.
